Special keyboard input

Hi all,
I use lineak to interpret special keystrokes events, but I was wondering
if there was anything integrated to XFce (using 4.1.91) to do this? Or
any more elegant solution (I like lineak, but if I can avoid running an
additional dameon to execute commands I'd be glad to).
Thanks!
PS: xmodmap doesn't seem to suit my needs either, because I want to
execute special scripts of mine and xmodmap will only let me choose
predefined commands
